Wintertime Dawn Walk
around a Tennessee lake
yielded seven different birds
including a Bald Eagle
and an elderly Heron.
Not to minimize the importance
of the Robin, Wren, Woodpecker,
or the chubby Cardinal
that followed me,
flitting around from tree to frosty tree
like someone had been feeding it,
but those are two are big ones
for the first woods walk of the year.
